This ArtQuilt was originally created as an African American textile artist response to the Fante people flags which celebrated various kings and heros, but not women.

Queen Mother Moore (1898- 1997) was given  the Queen Mother title on her 1st trip to Ghana in 1972. She was a civil rights worker, black nationalist and to me a Queen of Harlem. She was always dressed in African attire and would give anyone who would listen some wonderful part of African American history. I saw her often on the streets of Harlem and in my mind she should have been had a coronation and it should have been at Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Blvd and 125th Street.
